MINNEAPOLIS - ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Twins, in conjunction with WCCO Radio, have announced plans for a "Multiple Matrimony Ceremony" where 83 couples will be married or renew their vows prior to Saturday's game at the Metrodome. The Twins will host the Chicago White Sox with first pitch scheduled for 11:10 a.m., and the ceremony beginning at 10:40 a.m.

The couples qualified for this special occasion by writing a letter describing why they wanted to be married or renew vows on the field prior to a Twins game. The Rev. Gary Gottfried from the Chapel of Love at the Mall of America will preside over the ceremony, with Twins Hall of Famer Tony Oliva on hand to serve as a celebrity witness and sign the marriage licenses.

A pregame reception will be held in the picnic area tent from 8 - 10 a.m. on Saturday. The reception will include complimentary champagne by Barefoot Cellars Bubbly, wedding cake and Hormel hot dogs for the couples and their guests. Couples will be eligible to win prizes from the Twins including autographed memorabilia. Following the on-field ceremony, the couples will join family and friends in sections 113, 114, and 115.

Good seats remain available for all Twins home games, including this weekend's series against the Chicago White Sox. Fans may visit the Twins' Pro Shops (Apple Valley, Minnetonka, Roseville) or the Minnesota Twins Ticket Office at the Metrodome for tickets. Fans can also charge their tickets over the phone by calling (612) 33-TWINS or (800) 33-TWINS or by visiting the team's website at
