The stylish skipper -- who just managed his 1,000th career game -- has endeared himself to fans through extensive community efforts and a personality bigger than Tropicana Field.
To honor their fearless leader, the Rays gave away replica Joe Maddon sunglasses to the first 10,000 fans age 14 and under before Sunday's game against the A's.
