Strolling across the red carpet to "Welcome to the Jungle," former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan traded his axe for a baseball on Thursday night.
The Seattle native threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Mariners took on the Red Sox, making him at least the second hometown rocker to do the honors this season.
“It was totally nerve-wracking to throw out the first pitch,” he said. “I got about 150,000 texts saying don’t throw it in the dirt -- so I threw it really high, but not too high.”
Despite their place in the standings, McKagan has faith in his favorite team.
“We’re comfortable here," he said. "We’re just waiting for somebody else to falter and then we’ll take over.”
