82Seager, KyleUNC Chapel Hill2BL/R5'10"1987-11-03JR
Comments: Seager is another advanced bat from the University of North Carolina. While not as elite as teammate Dustin Ackley, he can swing the stick pretty well. He doesn't have a ton of power and that could help dictate what position he plays professionally. He's played both second and third well, but most feel he's best suited for the former, where his offensive skill set profiles better. As a pretty good offensive middle infielder, he could go pretty high on Draft day.

2Ackley, DustinUNC Chapel HillCFL/R6'01"1901988-02-26JR
Comments: Ackley might be the best pure hitter in the college ranks, if not the entire draft class. He's got great bat control and plus bat speed that allows him to make consistent contact to all fields. There's some debate about how much power he'll have, but that's really only an issue if he can't eventually return to his best position in center field. He's had to play first since Tommy John surgery last summer. He profiles better in the outfield but at whatever position, those hitting skills should get him off the board early.

51Poythress, RichardU Georgia1BR/R6'04"2351987-08-11JR
Comments: There's no question some teams will be intrigued by the monster numbers Poythress is putting up in the competitive SEC. Power is his calling card, but with a lack of great bat speed, there is some question how well it will play at the next level. There's no other part of his game that stands out, so someone will have to believe in his power to take him.

1013Griggs, ScottSan Ramon Valley HS (CA)RHPR/R6'03"1851991-05-13HS
Comments: Griggs is a projectable high school right-hander in Northern California who has some good stuff, but hasn't always had the kind of results you'd like to see with that arsenal. He's got three pitches -- fastball, curve, slider -- that could all be at least average offerings in the future and there might be more in the tank. Command is an issue because of some delivery problems, and he's had to deal with a blister throughout the spring. There are teams who do like projects, and there is a lot to work with here, so someone might try to sign Griggs away from his commitment to UCLA.
