Donruss
After two seasons away, venerable baseball-card players Donruss® and Leaf® have returned to the favorite hobby of America's pastime. Tradition-rich Donruss re-enters the baseball card category following a two-year hiatus. Donruss, embraced by collectors as a welcome part of the baseball hobby from 1981 to 1998, was taken from the industry when Pinnacle Brands went bankrupt in 1998. Playoff Corporation bought Donruss and two other companies from Pinnacle, and became DONRUSS/PLAYOFF. Donruss is the second oldest trading card company, and Leaf first published baseball cards more than half a century ago. The company's newest cards have brought in many younger collectors. The popular Playoff® name will be introduced into the baseball category for the first time. Since 1992, Playoff has used an array of award-winning products, such as Absolute®, Prestige® and Contenders®, to carve a niche for itself as the leader in the high-end card segment of the football trading card industry.
