To make room on the roster for top prospect Brett Jackson, the Cubs sent outfielder Tony Campana to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday. Hitless in his last five games, Campana was batting .259 with 26 stolen bases. "It'll be nice to get some at-bats every day," Campana said. Jackson went 2-for-4 with a walk in Sunday's game. Padres: Cabrera swiping bags efficiently
Infielder Everth Cabrera is 19-for-19 in stolen-base attempts this season, the Padres' longest streak to start a season. He was 15-for-15 in the Minors this season, making him perfect in 34 attempts so far in 2012. Since Sept. 17, 2010, Cabrera has stolen 23 bases in a row in the Major Leagues without being caught. With a perfect ninth inning on Sunday, closer Huston Street has thrown 18 1/3 straight scoreless innings, the longest streak by a Padres pitcher this season. He is 18-for-18 in save opportunities. Worth noting
Edinson Volquez, who was dealing with a blister on his thumb in his start rough outing on Saturday, is expected to make his next start, according to manager Bud Black. The Cubs swept the Padres in a three-game series at Wrigley Field in late May.
