Sunday, March 19 Mariners at the plate: Cody Ransom hit a pair of doubles in his first two at-bats, knocking the second one off the left-feild wall through a driving rain. Ransom was 3-for-4 on the day. Jeremy Reed was 2-for-2 with a pair of singles and a run. Rockies at the plate: Choo Freeman went 3-for-4, knocking his third and fourth triples of the spring and notching his fifth multihit game. Yorvit Torrealba hit a pair of RBI doubles against his old team, in the lineup as the DH. Mariners on the mound: Jamie Moyer pitched four innings, giving up three runs on five hits and one hit batsman. Moyer left the game during the fifth-inning rain delay. Jesse Foppert was ineffective in relief of Moyer, finishing the fifth, then facing five batters in the sixth and giving up five runs on three hits, a walk, and a hit batsman. Francisco Cruceta pitched three shutout, hitless innings and Eric O'Flaherty made his Cactus League debut by striking out the side in the ninth. Rockies on the mound: Starter Jose Acevedo struggled through four innings, giving up five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three. Scott Dohman provided solid relief for two innings, allowing two hits while striking out three for the win. Cactus League records: Mariners 6-10; Rockies 9-10. Up next: The Mariners travel to Phoenix to take on the A's at 12:05 p.m. PT Monday. Joel Pineiro makes his first Cactus League start for the Mariners, having spent most of March with Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. Aaron Cook takes the hill as the Rockies host the Padres for their only night game of the Spring at Hi Corbett Field, with a 7:05 p.m. MT start.
