  • Battle for AL West Continues in Upcoming Homestand with Division Rival Angels

    The battle for the American League Western Division heats up on Tuesday as the Astros host the LA Angels of Anaheim for a three-game set, July 28-30. The two teams have met 10 times so far this season, with both clubs taking five games each. The Angels narrowly lead the division by 1.0 game. Following the Astros vs. Angels series, Houston will host the Arizona Diamondbacks for three games of Interleague play, from Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2. This weekend's series will feature several special giveaways in honor of Craig Biggio's induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Since the All-Star Break, the Astros have gone 6-3, including a 5-1 record at Minute Maid Park.

On Sunday, July 26, Biggio's much-anticipated Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at 12:30 p.m. CT at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, NY.

  • Astros Acquire Kazmir from Athletics

    The Houston Astros have acquired left-handed pitcher Scott Kazmir from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for two minor leaguers, right-handed pitcher Daniel Mengden and catcher Jacob Nottingham. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

  • Keuchel Named American League Co-Player of the Week

    Major League Baseball announced this afternoon that Houston Astros left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named the American League Co-Player of the Week along with Kansas City outfielder Lorenzo Cain for the week of July 13-19. This marks Keuchel's first Player of the Week Award this season and the second of his career (also, May 19-25, 2014).

  • Keuchel Named American League All-Star Team Starting Pitcher

    Major League Baseball and American League All-Star manager Ned Yost announced this afternoon that Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel will start for the AL All-Star Team tomorrow night in the 86th Annual MLB All-Star Game. Keuchel will become the fourth pitcher in franchise history to start an All-Star Game, joining Roger Clemens (2004), Mike Scott (1987) and J.R. Richard (1980).

  • Keuchel Named to American League All-Star Game

    Major League Baseball announced tonight that Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named to the 2015 American League All-Star team. The AL and National League pitchers and reserves were announced tonight. Keuchel joins second baseman Jose Altuve and manager A.J. Hinch on the 2015 AL All-Star Team. Altuve was named the AL's starting second baseman last night, while Hinch was named to the AL's coaching staff last month.
