    The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Jason Vargas from the 60-day disabled list (recovery from Tommy John surgery). Vargas, 33, will make his season debut in tonight's game against the Chicago White Sox. To make room on the roster, the club has reinstated right-handed pitcher Chien-Ming Wang from the 15-day disabled list and designated him for assignment.

    The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have extended their development contract with the Wilmington Blue Rocks through the 2018 season. Wilmington (DE) is Kansas City's Full-Season, Single-A affiliate in the Carolina League and have partnered with the Royals annually since 2007. Wilmington was also a Royals' affiliate from 1993-2004.
