Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Bill Bavasi today announced that the Mariners have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Travis Blackley from triple-A Tacoma.

To make room on the 25-man roster, right-handed pitcher Clint Nageotte has been optioned to triple-A Tacoma.

Blackley, who will wear #48, is expected to start today's 1:35 PM game vs. the Texas Rangers.

Nageotte was 1-4, 6.85 in five games, four starts, with Seattle this season. He was the Mariners fifth-round selection in the June, 1999 draft. In 2003, he was 11-7, 3.10 in 27 starts for AA San Antonio, the Texas League champions. Nageotte led the TL in strikeouts (157) and was third in ERA.
