The Seattle Mariners are hoping to fill Safeco Field with a sea of navy blue Aug. 27-29, for the crucial upcoming series against American League West Division rival Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Fans are also being urged to show their support throughout the three-game series by wearing Mariners caps, T-shirts, jerseys or other Mariners Blue items to work and school. In support of those efforts, Mayor Greg Nickels will proclaim Monday, Aug. 27, "Mariners Monday" in Seattle.

"The Mariners are having a truly memorable season and it's been fun to watch the fans' excitement grow with each series win. We'd love to see a sold-out Safeco Field filled with Mariners Blue for that crucial three-game series with the Angels and give the Mariners a true home field advantage," said Chuck Armstrong, Seattle Mariners President and COO.

The Mariner Moose and Navigators (Mariners Street Team) will be out on Monday and Tuesday in Seattle rewarding fans for wearing team colors. One lucky fan will be chosen at random to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Monday's game.

Tickets for the three game Angels series, and all other Mariners home games, are still available. Tickets can be purchased without a service charge at Seattle Mariners Team Stores (4th & Stewart in downtown Seattle, Bellevue Square, Southcenter Mall, Alderwood Mall and Capital Mall in Olympia), and at the Safeco Field box office. Tickets are also available on , by phone at 206-622-HITS, and through Ticketmaster.
