SEATTLE -- The Mariners return home for the shortest homestand of the season when the San Diego Padres make their only visit to Seattle for a three-game series (May 16-18) over the weekend at Safeco Field.

With the All-Time Interleague series deadlocked at 28-28 after Seattle won four of six games in 2007, the Mariners look to take the lead when they send Jarrod Washburn to the mound in Friday ' s series opener. Washburn has not faced the Padres since 2006, but his teams have won two of his three lifetime starts versus San Diego. The Padres will counter with Chris Young who is 6-1, 2.17 ERA lifetime in Interleague Play.

J.J. Putz Bobblehead Night will be on Friday, May 16 with the first 25,000 fans receiving the second in a series of five connecting bobbleheads. Don ' t miss out on this Mariners collectible and your chance to continue to build your set.

Sara Tucholsky from Western Oregon University and Mallory Holtman and Liz Wallace from Central Washington University, the three young women who received national attention for their act of sportsmanship earlier this month will be at Safeco Field on Friday to throw out the ceremonial first pitches prior to the game.

Ichiro Suzuki, hitting .346 in May, and Jose Lopez, among the league leaders in batting average and hits, will look to continue their hot hitting against the Padres Randy Wolf who will be making his first career start versus Seattle on Saturday. Sunday ' s series finale will feature Mariners ace Erik Bedard, who has a 1.45 Home ERA, facing off against the recently recalled Shawn Estes. Bedard won his only career start versus the Padres last year at Petco Park, striking out nine in 6.0 innings.

Don't miss out on Little League Weekend when all kids 14 and under will receive Mariners sunglasses (Saturday) and a Mariners water bottle (Sunday). For more details about Little League Weekend, please see box below.
