The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Minor League infielder Jason Taylor of the Kansas City Royals organization has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a drug of abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Last season, Taylor played for Single-A Burlington of the Midwest League.

The suspension of Taylor will be effective at the start of the 2009 season.
