The Mariners will open a 6-game homestand to cap off the month of July against the Cleveland Indians (July 24-26), and the AL East's Toronto Blue Jays (July 27-29).

The All-Star break might be over, but several of the Mariners are still playing like All-Star caliber players. Russell Branyan is tied for the American League lead in home runs, Franklin Gutierrez has established himself as a rising star and Felix Hernandez continues to make his case for a second straight Pitcher of the Month Award.

Be sure to allow yourselves ample time to make it to the ballpark, as this Saturday will be a busy day. The Sounders will play at noon, just before the start of the Mariners game, and the annual Torchlight Parade will take place Saturday night.

Everett native Grady Sizemore and the Cleveland Indians will make their only visit to Safeco Field this season starting tomorrow. Seattle won three of four games in Cleveland last week and has won six of their last seven games against the Tribe. All-Star catcher Victor Martinez who was the team's lone representative at the All-Star game in St.Louis this year joins Sizemore in the lineup that also features former Mariners Shin-Soo Choo, Luis Valbuena and Asdrubal Cabrera.

The Mariners will face the Toronto Blue Jays for the first time this season when they close out the short six-game homestand. Toronto's All-Star ace Roy Halladay, the center of trade rumors, is schedule to make a start against Seattle, but that could change if a trade takes place. Second baseman Aaron Hill, Toronto's other All-Star is on his way to having a career-year and has already set a career-high with 21 home runs.

Wednesday's series finale will be a Mariners Matinee presented by US Bank so don't miss your chance for exciting day baseball at Safeco Field. Take a long lunch and joins us at the ballpark for this special 1:40 start time.

First pitches: On Saturday, July 25, Pat O'Day, the 2009 Seafair Torchlight Parade Grand Marshall will take the bump for the ceremonial first pitch. O'Day is a long-time radio announcer for the Seafair hydroplane races and is best known as the afternoon drive personality at Seattle's KJR 950 in the 1960's. On Monday, July 27, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Willie Mitchell will trade his hockey skates for a chance to throw a strike before the Mariners face Toronto. The B.C. native has also represented Team Canada in International competition. On Tuesday, July 28, former lightweight boxing champion Greg Haugen, from Auburn, Washington will take the mound prior to the middle-game of the three-game series against Toronto. Haugen was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008 after retiring in 1999 with a 40-10-2 record.
