Along with the Mariners Moose, the players and broadcasters will host assemblies for elementary school students and hold free public autograph and photo sessions at various sites.
The first day of the Caravan will include stops at Covington Elementary in South King County, a visit with patients at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma and a public autograph session at Saint Martin's University in Lacey from 4:15-5:45 p.m. PT.
For the next three weeks, different players and broadcasters will travel as far as Portland, Ore., Vancouver, British Columbia, and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
The first-week stops will include Chehalis, Centralia, Portland, Longview and Kelso.
Outfielder Casper Wells and reliever Charlie Furbush are the featured players, along with broadcaster Mike Blowers, during the second week, which will include Yakima, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Spokane, Walla Walla, the Tri-Cities and Coeur d'Alene.
Week 3 players are expected to include outfielder Michael Saunders and relief pitchers Lucas Luetge and Tom Wilhelmsen, along with broadcaster Rick Rizzs, with stops planned for Mount Vernon, Bellingham, Ferndale, Bellevue, Tacoma and Tukwila, as well as a British Columbia junket to Vancouver, Delta and Surrey.
The school assemblies aren't open to the public, but a schedule of the public appearances during the Caravan is available at www.mariners.com/caravan and will be updated regularly with events and activities.
