The Los Angeles Dodgers today optioned right-handed reliever Yimi Garcia to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The club is expected to reinstate right-hander Juan Nicasio from the 15-day disabled list tomorrow, when it opens a three-game series at Cincinnati.

The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced the hiring of Ron Roenicke, who will coach third base for the remainder of the season. Roenicke managed the Brewers to a 342-331 record from 2011-15, before being replaced in May. The Southern California native was an outfielder in the Majors from 1981-88, including parts of three seasons with the Dodgers (1981-83). Before being named the Brewers' skipper prior to the 2011 campaign, the 58-year-old was a longtime coach for the Angels, serving as their third base (2000-05) and bench coach (2006-10).
The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) dedicated its first universally accessible Dodgers Dreamfield for youth with disabilities at Baldwin Hills Recreation Center, located at 5401 Highlight Place in Los Angeles, earlier today. This new ADA accessible field is the 38th Dodgers Dreamfield and its creation was also made possible by several partners including the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, LA84 Foundation, the Miracle League, the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and Security Benefit. Adrian and Betsy Gonzalez, Clayton and Ellen Kershaw and Joc Pederson and brother Champ Pederson were on hand for today's dedication. Dodger broadcaster Alanna Rizzo served as emcee.
The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed right-handed pitcher Juan Nicasio on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to Aug. 10) with a left abdominal strain and reinstated right-hander Chris Hatcher (left oblique strain) from the 60-day disabled list. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers transferred Carlos Frias (right lower back tightness) to the 60-day disabled list.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will play host to more than 100 South Bay area youngsters on Friday, August 14 when the club takes on the Reds at 7:10 p.m. A full game-day experience will be provided to the South Bay youngsters ages 5 to 17 starting at the Harbor Gateway Transit Center where they will board the Dodger Stadium Express South Bay Service to Dodger Stadium. The 120 youngsters have been selected from various community centers including Harbor City Recreation Center, Diamond All-Stars Cheer, YWCA Harbor Area & South Bay, John Mendez Pony Baseball and Sharefest Community Development, Inc.

The Los Angeles Dodgers today added left-handed pitcher Alex Wood, right-handed reliever Jim Johnson and left-handed reliever Luis Avilan to the active roster, while optioning right-handers Mike Bolsinger and Zach Lee to Triple-A Oklahoma City and placing infielder Justin Turner on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 27) with a right thigh skin infection.
