Yuniesky Betancourt homered in the third, and Jeremy Reed went deep for the second straight night in the fifth after Seattle generated two runs in the fourth, but the offense struggled down the stretch and into extra innings. Richie Sexson ended the drought with a solo shot in the 13th to win it.
