The Ryan Howard Big Piece Foundation Stand Up for Literacy, The Franklin Institute, 6:30 p.m. Join Phillies first baseman, Ryan Howard, and his wife Krystle as they launch The Ryan Howard Big Piece Foundation and their inaugural Stand Up for Literacy event. This red carpet event includes a cocktail reception, plated dinner, a live and silent auction, as well as live music and comedy entertainment. Get an early start to the Labor Day weekend with a "Phillies at the Beach" Viewing Party in Atlantic City at Arkansas Avenue and the Beach! The free festivities begin at noon and allow fans the chance to watch the Phillies take on the Mets from a massive mobile movie screen right on the sand. The Comcast SportsNet broadcast of the game will begin at 1 p.m. The beach viewing party, with no beach tags required, is close to shops, dining and other amenities including parking. Fans will be treated to sand sculpture lessons, as well as appearances by the Phanatic and other special guests.
