Phanta Claus and Charlie Manuel were assisted by members of the US military in the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, December 15.
Holiday spirit was in the air as a big red fire engine from Ladder 27 carrying the team's mascot and manager rumbled it's way to the Third Base Gate, where hundreds of Phillies fans were there to greet them. Carolers sang as Phanta Claus plugged in the lights to illuminate the giant tree outside of the Majestic Clubhouse Store.

Last year, the Phillie Phanatic made a triumphant return back to his homeland - the Galapagos Islands. He received a hero's welcome by all his friends back home, including the many sea lions, iguanas, giant tortoises and blue footed boobies that were there to greet him.
The Phanatic's trip was so successful, he decided to return to Galapagos this offseason.
With the help of Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic, the Phanatic once again travelled the beautiful island chain onboard the National Geographic Endeavour and learned all about his native land.
The highlight of the Phanatic's trip was his visit to the Tomas de Berlanga school, located on Santa Cruz island. The Phanatic donated copies of his children's book series to the schoolÂ’s library and taught the children how to play baseball. The students surprised the Phanatic by singing his favorite song - Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
The Phanatic loves Philadelphia but his home away from home will always be the Galapagos Islands!
