Transportation and Parking

TRANSPORTATION ALERT

During the 2009 baseball season the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be constructing SR519 along Royal Brougham Way on the north side of the ballpark.

While the street will be open to traffic before and after games it will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Unless you plan to park in the Qwest Event Center Garage located on Royal Brougham you should avoid trying to access this street due to potential extended delays.

Traffic changes and detours will be implemented as the project moves forward and the Seattle Police Department will keep traffic moving through the area.

Watch for traffic alerts from WSDOT and on the Mariners website.

Safeco Field is located just south of downtown Seattle. To the south is the "SODO District", home to a growing number of specialty retail businesses. To the east is the International District with its Asian restaurants and specialty shops. To the north is Pioneer Square, the original, historic "downtown" of Seattle. To the west reside the bustling Port of Seattle and the waterfront with restaurants and shops of all kinds. Many fans combine a trip to these wonderful locations with a day at the ballpark.
