Gaylord Perry is the first member of the Hall of Fame to play for the Mariners. He pitched one and a half seasons with Seattle towards the end of his career in 1982 and 1983. On May 7th, 1982, while playing for Seattle, Perry won his 300th game against the New York Yankees, guaranteeing his election into the hall.
