• Thompson returns to the Tribe as a Special Assistant, a role he held from 2003-10, before spending the 2011-13 seasons as a bench coach for the Seattle Mariners.
• Served as the Indians first base and infield coach in 2002 and then served as bench coach and infield coach in the second half of the 2005 campaign.
• Spent his entire 11-year Major League playing career as the San Francisco Giants starting second baseman.
• Has four children - Kristeena, Andrew, Logan and Tyler.
